    General Information regarding the Shipyard

Lets take a look around the window from the Shipyard's view(once you click on your Shipyard)

On the left side of the screen you will see

Here you can see how much materials will be needed to upgrade and how long it will take. Also you have the option to demolish the building as well. Clicking demolish will give you a confirmation screen showing how much resource you would recover. This option is helpful for when you want to abandon a colony and recover some of the luxury resources and wood.

Clicking the "Fire Units" will take you to the screen below.

Here you can choose which warships and how many you want to fire/dismiss. Once you do you will get a confirmation screen. Firing warships will give back a small portion of the mats and you get all the citizens back that were needed to train them. This could lead to a problem, as firing massive amounts could directly effect happiness levels. So make sure you have room for them as if you don't you will lose the extra citizens.

Now in the middle of the shipyard screen you will see something similar to this(depends on what warships you have researched etc)

Here you will see a list of warships you have researched and thus can train. Below them you will see what requirements are needed to train them, how long and what if any upgrades they currently have. Upgrades show up as either a shield(defensive upgrade) or a sword(offensive upgrade) icon. If you have enough resources you will see a slider bar and a "Train" icon that you can click.

NOTE Be very careful when training troops. As click "Train" will queue up the number of troops selected and once started you can not stop the queue. Due to this many have ended up with more troops in queue then they thought.

    Misc Info

Every shipyard upgrade up until the "Optimum Level" reduces the time it takes to build that unit by 10%, once you go over the "Optimum Level" its only a 3% reduction in time.

The "Time to build" for a particular unit listed in the guide is when the shipyard is at the "Optimum Level" for that unit. Your actual building time will vary based upon the above
