Any of the original players around?

I’ve been playing since it was in Beta. I want to say it was in 2006-7 that I started. I went to sleep a while back when I moved, and woke up here. I’m pretty sure I was in ‘en’ before, instead of ‘us’. I was last in the STN alliance there. I don’t see anyone I knew from then. My cities were all in the same places, but my neighbors were gone when I came back.

Ikariam started in 2008, so good luck with starting two years prior to its launch. EN and US have never merged, so either you were in both before, or you remember incorrectly.

Yeah, you can say it 'started' in 2008, but it was in Beta for two years prior to that, and I distinctly remember going 'live', so I know I was playing when it was still beta. It was after I moved to California in 2006, so I wasn't in the very early beta.

I don't know about merging or whatever, but I remembered I was in 'theta' (which my notes confirmed) and that world is no longer offered in either en or us. That's likely the way I ended up in us instead of en. There was only the 'en' server at the outset (in beta mode), no 'us' server. When this started, it was a very German game (we had 'language police' that would ban you for using foreign glyph sets in naming your towns, for example--I got banned for naming my towns after places from 'Bleach'). The tech support was 'curious'.

And it's not like I've been gone for a decade. I went to sleep when I moved from Sunnyvale to San Jose, and woke back up when I got to Texas. I was gone at best a year.

The board used to have life in it, too. This is anemic (and bordering on comatose) compared to the board I used to post on.

Aim is to connect Ikariam players and break this silence in the community.We rarely interact with each other, hence we make this dying game even worse.
