LOL I imagine you don't spend much time covering the American Revolution just like the American South doesn't spend much time covering the Civil War.

Yeah, it's not like the south go crazy about it and still wave the outdated flag.

Not just an outdated flag, but the flag of a conquered enemy. That's what really bugs me. And that's why I think we need to remove that flag and any Confederate monuments from public spaces. We don't have a statue of King George in Boston or Benedict Arnold in West Point, we don't fly that peculiar German flag we can't mention on the boards in Washington DC, so we shouldn't have statues of traitors like Jefferson Davis on public land either.

It is an outdated flag, it's a flag of a country that no longer exists. Like the Scottish flag for example, but we let them have William Wallace monuments and fly their flag.

I don't think you can really draw a comparison between Scotland and the Confederacy.

Because Scotland was a sovereign kingdom long before the creation of the UK.

Only because the U.K. was formed after Scotland was unified with England, which it had been before. It's really no different, used to be unified, seperated, reunified.

Scotland was a kingdom for centuries before the unification with England. And I think to be accurate you should say England and Ireland unified with Scotland.

They weren't unified until we conquered them. Their existence as a unified island is under England as a colony, even now we kept some.

Again, I'm staying out of any arguments with the Irish.
